2024: A year of growth and impact at RoR
2024 has been an incredibly busy and productive year for RoR across all our teams. To showcase the breadth of our work, we’ve created an infographic highlighting some of our key achievements.

Here are some of the year’s highlights:
Traceability
In 2024, we saw an increase of 1,549 RoR-registered horses, bringing the total number of actively registered horses to 14,036. These figures are crucial in advancing the traceability of our beloved former racehorses and support our ongoing mission to safeguard their wellbeing.
Welfare, education and competitions
- Welfare: We assisted 66 horses through our welfare safety net, a 22% increase compared to 2023.
- Ask The Experts email support: We supported 124 members with a wide range of retraining queries.
- Education: We hosted 375 educational events (both mounted and unmounted), with 1,674 participants attending
- Competitions: We received over 4,521 entries across all RoR competitions, with 280 unique competitors taking part in the RoR National Championships across 95 classes.
Raising awareness
We held 11 RoR parades, with 107 former racehorses participating, and now have 33 Horses for Courses horse ambassadors across 25 racecourses.
Our social media presence grew significantly, with a reach of over 937,300 on Facebook and more than 116,300 on Instagram. We sent 87 newsletters to members and stakeholders, achieving an average open rate of approximately 50%.
We extend our thanks to all our members and stakeholders for their contributions to these successes, and we look forward to building on this momentum in the coming year.
RoR is always interested to hear of other success stories so please email us and send a photograph of your own story.
