RoR to host fundraising cricket day
- Great day of sport plus fantastic charity auction
- Hosted on the Getty Estate’s Wormsley Cricket Ground
Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is delighted to announce that the RoR Racing to Cricket day will again take place on Sunday 5th September 2021 at the historic and magnificent Wormsley Estate, home to the ground created by the late Sir Paul Getty, often referred to as one of the most beautiful cricket grounds in the world. In 2019, the RoR Racing to Cricket fundraising day was a great success, enjoyed by guests and raising over £50,000.
This unique day brings together supporters from the world of racing with trainers, owners and supporters coming together to raise money for RoR. Eight teams playing under the names of Charlie Hills, Richard Hannon, Ben Pauling, Mick Channon, Nicky Henderson, Paul Roy, John Pearce Racing and a combined Newmarket team with George Boughey, James Fergurson and Charlie Fellowes will provide the afternoon’s entertainment, while there will be an auction and raffle during the lunch break to give those present an opportunity to show their support and raise money for the charity.
Guests will have the chance to bid on fantastic auction lots on the day, including a top lot of a quarter share in a racehorse, as well Centre Court seats at Wimbledon, the use of a private fully catered box at Ascot, VIP package to the Royal Ballet in Covent Garden, a case of vintage wine and also have the chance to win £2,500 worth of holiday vouchers. There are currently a limited number of tables for eight people available with top class hospitality with champagne on arrival, followed by a delicious buffet lunch with wine and later in the afternoon a traditional cricket tea.
