news RoR joins forces with Agria

14th June 2024

RoR and Agria are delighted to announce a new partnership to promote the versatility of former racehorses, celebrate their achievements in their post-racing careers and support RoR’s fundraising efforts.

Agria, the UK’s only provider of lifetime equine insurance, is set to support a number of initiatives with RoR with their ongoing partnership. Any Agria insurance policy purchased through RoR’s affiliate links will result in small percentage being received by RoR. This applies to any insurance policy purchased including horse, dog, cat and rabbit. Agria will also be providing a special prize bundle for the top-placed RoR in the Agria Lifetime Equine BE100 League series which will be presented alongside the RoR award.

The partnership will officially launch on the Sunday of Hickstead’s prestigious Derby meeting (June 20-23) with a champagne reception at Agria’s stand, where all attending RoR owners and riders are invited to join the celebration.

Agria supports a range of projects and equine charities and has long celebrated the contribution made by horses and ponies of all types to their owners through its established Horse of a Lifetime campaign. This collaboration with RoR is a testament to Agria’s dedication to equine welfare and highlights their extensive involvement in promoting the wellbeing of horses.

“We are huge fans of the Thoroughbred, which is our second most insured breed in fact in the UK*. I know from personal experience how talented and versatile a former racehorse can be,” says Agria UK’s CEO, Vicki Wentworth, who herself owns and plans to compete a former racehorse. “We’re proud to work with RoR because any initiative that helps promote, guide and smooth the transition of these marvellous horses to appropriate second homes is so important and valuable, not least for horse sport’s social licence.”

While people sometimes worry about the potential for increased health problems in a former racehorse, Agria’s lifetime equine policy —the only UK horse insurance which does not add new exclusions to your vet fee cover once you make a claim — will protect your partnership. Nor does the level of veterinary cover diminish as your horse grows old.

Rupert Arnold, Executive Consultant to RoR, adds: “We are delighted to be partnering with Agria who provide an innovative approach to horse insurance and whose focus on equine welfare closely aligns with our mission to safeguard the wellbeing of all former racehorses. We are excited about the opportunities to deliver this message together and to have their ongoing support.”
