RoR Volunteer Recognition Award
In loving memory of Fi Carlin
This special award has been created in memory of our much-loved colleague and friend Fi Carlin, whose warmth, energy, and selfless dedication to RoR touched everyone that she met.
The RoR Volunteer Recognition Award celebrates a volunteer who truly embodies Fi’s spirit, someone who gives their time generously, builds meaningful relationships, and advocates passionately for RoR and its mission to support the welfare and retraining of former racehorses.
From 2026, nominations will be invited from across the RoR team, and a judging panel, including a trustee, will select the recipient who most demonstrates:
- Longstanding service and commitment to RoR
- Significant volunteer hours and
- Fundraising and support for RoR initiatives
- Positive engagement with RoR members and the wider community
- Advocacy and ambassadorship for RoR’s mission
- Exceptional communication, kindness, and teamwork
Above all, the winner will reflect Fi’s kindness, enthusiasm, and unwavering dedication - qualities that continue to inspire us all.
The winner will be announced at the annual RoR Awards each year, from 2027 onwards.
