Mickey Bowen took over the National Hunt licence from his father Peter and trains from his family’s renowned yard in West Wales, combining expert horsemanship with modern facilities and a close-knit, hardworking team which includes his two brothers champion jockey Sean Bowen and Cheltenham festival winning jockey James Bowen.
Morning: Yard Tour
Explore the training routines, feeding regimes, facilities, and welfare strategies that support every horse on the yard.
Afternoon: Retraining Talk with Amy Bannister-Bell (BHSI, RoR Wales RDO)
Gain valuable insights into the retraining process of former racehorses – what’s involved, key challenges, how to maintain good practices, and where to find support. A great session whether you already own an RoR or are considering taking one on.
