Training RoR Northern - Poletastic with Julie Howard At High Plains, NE44 6AY

9th July, 2026

Julie has a sympathetic, horse-centred approach to coaching, which aims to develop partnerships based on their individual needs.  She coaches regularly from her base at High Plains and declares to have a huge soft spot for thoroughbreds having owned a few herself, one of which was a Grade 1 Cheltenham Festival winner.

These fun sessions are extremely popular and consist of one hour shared group session (groups of 4) including progressive exercises to make you and your horse more co-ordinated and improve your horse's core strength and agility.  The sessions will take place in the 60m x 40m outdoor arena with a large selection of poles and equipment available.

All levels of horse and rider are welcome as the exercises can be modified to suit fitness and ability.

What you need to know :

·      Horses should be capable of being ridden in a group, these sessions are not suitable for in-hand

·      Tack – just use your normal every day tack – jumping tack is usually more practical than dressage tack if you aren’t sure

·      What to wear – something comfortable – your everyday riding clothes are fine

·      What to bring – its July…. Sun screen, water for you and your horse, and possibly a thick winter coat, who knows!! (sense of humour essential)

·      Please arrive at least 15 minutes before the start time but don’t get on until you are in the arena – WHIS coaching units will be used so earpieces will need to be fitted

·      Parking – please park in the allocated area – you will need to be fairly close to your neighbour as space is limited

·      We currently require annual flu vaccinations (spot checks apply)

·      Entrants must have Third Party Public Liability Insurance

·      Withdrawals after the closing date cannot be refunded unless the space is filled

·      This event may not run in heavy rain storms or high winds
