RoR South East - Autumn Camp at Hickstead Showground - BN6 9NS
The RoR is very excited to offer a residental camp at the wonderful Hickstead Showground.
Hickstead is one of the most famous showjumping venues in the world, home to multiple top-class shows and of course the famous Derby bank. They have just finished a major project building top class stables to go alongside their numerous arenas and other fantastic facilities.
The camp is open to all abilities - whether this will be your first ever outing with your retired racehorse or a more experience combination - there is something for everyone.
Confirmed instructors are: Clare and Nick Edwards and Kate Pheasant who are all very experienced and highly qualified instructors - more details below.
Breakfast, lunch and 2 course dinner will be provided by Maxwell catering - so no need to worry about cooking or washing up!
4 group lessons from very experienced coaches
Feed nutritionist and weighbridge
Stabling in the brand new barns with hot and cold wash bays.
Hacking routes around the showground
Use of the clubhouse overlooking the arenas
Evening talk and fun quiz
Lots of fun and laughter.
Use of numerous arenas including arena XC with built in water complex, steps and ditches.
The plan
Arrive Friday lunchtime, settle horses inm 1 lesson in the afternoon and enjoy a 2 course dinner and fun quiz
Saturday - 2 lessons, breakfast, lunch and a 2 course dinner, weigh bridge and feed nutritionist
Saturday evening - talk
Sunday - final lessons and breakfast and lunch- leave from 1pm following lunch.

Lessons A - If you choose lesson option A, you will receive one of each of the following:

Showjumping
Arena XC
Grid work
Lessons B - If you choose lesson option B, you will receive one of each of the following:
Dressage
Polework
Showing - in hand and ridden
Dressage, polework, introduction to jumping (choose one)
Claire and Nick Edwards
Claire, Nick and the family have not only owned multiple ex racehorses who have been retrained for showjumping but also actively coach riders who own ex racehorses & produced ex racehorses for owners. Therefore both Claire and Nick can bring to the training a wealth of knowledge and experience to actively suit ex racehorses and their riders, creating a positive environment for progression.
Claire Edwards is a British Showjumping & British Equestrian UKCC Level 4 Coach, NDPCE Coach, BEF Youth Pathway Coach and BHS Accredited Professional Coach
Nick Edwards is a British Showjumping Level 3 Coach and showjumper with years of experience competing up to 1.40m Level nationally.
Kate Pheasant
Kate is a very experienced coach who has trained many ex-racehorses across all disciplines and is a BHS stage 5 coach and also a BS UKCC level 3 coach.
Perfect event for your first time out or if you are more experienced and looking to continue your retraining.
