Process
The RoR Awards process starts with nominations, followed by a judging panel shortlisting three finalists in each category. The public can then vote, with the winners announced at the RoR Awards ceremony on Cheltenham Trials Day, 25 January 2025.
Nomination phase
Nominations for the awards have now closed and are being reviewed by our panel of judges. The finalists will be announced on Monday, 25 November 2024, when voting will also open.
Judging phase
A judging panel, including an RoR trustee, representatives from The Sir Peter O’Sullevan Charitable Trust and The Jockey Club, and a racing representative, will evaluate nominations, selecting three finalists for each award. The judging will focus on how well each entry meets the criteria of the relevant award.
Finalists and public voting
Once finalists accept their position, we will announce the three finalists for each award. Public voting opens on 25 November 2024 and closes at 5pm on 10 January 2025.
The Awards ceremony
The RoR Awards 2025 takes place at Cheltenham Trials Day on 25 January, where the two award winners will be announced. Finalists for each award, along with a guest, will be invited to the event, which includes a welcome reception, the Awards Ceremony, and presentations for the season's RoR Elite Champions across seven equestrian disciplines.
