news Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) launches new branded merchandise shop in partnership with Boss Direct Ltd

1st November 2024

Press release

Following a re-tender process, Retraining of Racehorses (RoR) is delighted to announce the launch of its newly revamped online branded merchandise shop, in partnership with Boss Direct Ltd. The new shop, www.rorshop.uk, which launches Friday 1 November, reflects RoR’s commitment to enhancing the quality and range of products available to its members and supporters.

A key driver behind this expansion stems from feedback collected during RoR’s 2023/24 member research, where members expressed a strong desire to support the charity through the purchase of branded merchandise. They also requested a broader product range, including horse gear and options in various colourways. RoR has responded by offering an expanded selection that features these additions, alongside seasonal products and exclusive competition ranges to be introduced throughout the year.

Notably, with every purchase made through the new merchandise shop, a percentage of the sale will return to RoR, supporting the charity’s essential work in safeguarding the wellbeing of former racehorses across Great Britain. This new partnership with Boss Direct Ltd ensures a seamless shopping experience for supporters, both online and at major RoR events throughout the year.

Vicky Vine, Director of Fundraising, Marketing and Communications at RoR said: “We are extremely proud of the new merchandise shop, which reflects the needs and wishes of our members. The re-tender process has allowed us to elevate our merchandise offerings, and we believe this will foster greater engagement and bring in sustainable support for our work.”

Cecilia Phillips, CEO at Boss Direct Ltd said: “We are delighted to have secured this contract and to be partnering with RoR on their new merchandise shop. With our knowledge of the equestrian market and experience supporting the RoR National Championships, we understand the needs and preferences of RoR members. Working closely with the RoR team, we’ve selected a product range that we believe will truly resonate with them.”
